What I do.
As a journalist with a passion for video creation, I find a powerful intersection between storytelling and visual communication. Video allows me to capture the essence of a story in a dynamic and immersive way, engaging audiences on a deeper level. “More Women+ Surf”
Featuring More Women+ Surf — an all women and LGBTQ+ group which offers free surf lessons in the greater Portland, Maine area. I spent a day filming one of the meetups and carried out interviews with Pam(founder), Jasmine who is a volunteer instructor and Katie, one of the women receiving a free lesson. This video was part of my master’s thesis on women in cold water surf culture.

Surfline Wave Faces:
Maureen “Auntie Mo” McNamara
I shot and interviewed a one minute social media style piece for Surfline Featuring local Maine legend, and local surfer, Maureen “Auntie Mo” McNamara. Maureen is a Maine native and has been surfing for over fifty years. I spent a day with Maureen, beginning at her home, riding along with her in her car, checking the conditions at a few spots along the Maine coastline, before finally hopping in the 30 degree ocean for a quick surf session. Listen along as Maureen shares what the true essence of surfing is after over half a century of chasing swells.
This piece featured as an episode of Surfline’s new series “Wave Faces” — featuring celebrated locals from different areas across the U.S. surf scene and beyond.
